Ex-Florida Gators running back Jordan Cronkrite headed to USF

Former Florida Gators running back Jordan Cronkrite is heading to USF, according to a report from recruiting insider Ryan Bartow on Thursday.

Cronkrite was a four-star recruit out of Miami and a U.S. Army All-American before signing with the Gators in 2015. The 5-foot-11, 204-pound athlete played two seasons at UF, where he rushed for 302 yards and four touchdowns on 75 carries. He also caught 26 passes and scored two receiving touchdowns.

But he decided to transfer in the offseason after getting stuck in the Gators' crowded backfield, with Jordan Scarlett, Mark Thompson and Lamical Perine. He will have to sit out a year before becoming eligible.

"Told y'all, my Plan B was just another way for plan A to work!" Cronkrite wrote Thursday on Twitter. "Thank you Coach Strong for the opportunity #GoBulls."

The Bulls have four running backs: Seniors Darius Tice and Johnson, sophomore Trevon Sands and redshirt freshman Elijah Mack.
