Upcoming Pinellas School Board workshop: Transformation Zone, teacher evaluations and lawsuit updates
In what appears to be the briefest workshop agenda in recent history, the Pinellas County School Board will review three hot topics Tuesday before summer break.
Board members will start the day with an "overview of support" provided to all schools, especially the eight in the Transformation Zone. Then the board will review proposed revisions to the teacher and administration evaluation system for the 2017-18 school year.
The day will conclude with an update from the School Board's attorney on discussions with the Concerned Organization for Quality Education of Black Students, known as COQEBS, who are currently in an alternative dispute resolution process as plaintiffs in a state lawsuit alleging black children have been denied an decent education.
Each topic will be discussed for 45 minutes each. The workshop is expected to wrap up by 12:15 p.m. You can find the agenda here.
The workshop begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the school district's Largo headquarters, 301 Fourth St SW.
