A local high school student made quite the catch Monday: a 12 and a half foot long gator.
Josh Padrick, a local football player, was hunting for his family business when he saw the alligator.
"We initially saw the gators head and we were able to realize this was going to be a big alligator," he said. "We were really excited."
The alligator was not a record-setting catch, however. The record is over 14 feet, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
