TAMPA — A 32-year-old Miami man has been charged with murder in connection with the April shooting death of Darius Jaquan Harris, court records show.

Zachary Alexander Williams was arrested Thursday in Sarasota County and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on charges of first degree murder and illegally possessing a firearm as a felon, jail records show.

According to a Hillsborough County grand jury indictment filed Sept. 28, Williams shot Harris, 24, "with a premeditated design" on April 23.

The shooting happened about 8:20 a.m. at 1937 W. Union St. in West Tampa, police reported at the time. Officers arrived to find Harris injured, and he died at a local hospital. No other information was released at the time.

Details such as the relationship between the two men or a possible motive for the shooting were not immediately available Friday.

Jail records show Harris was on probation for a grand larceny at the time of his arrest.
