A tropical system off the northern coast of South America has been upgraded and named Tropical Storm Bret.
A 5 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center announced that the storm has sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving west-northwest at 30 mph. The storm is expected to move near or over Trinidad and the eastern coast of Venezuela Monday night and early Tuesday.
The Windward Islands and Venezuela's eastern coast should expect 2 to 4 inches of rain Monday night and Tuesday.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada and the coast of Venezuela. Bonaire, Curacao and Aruba are under a tropical storm watch.
