Top things to do this week: Adults take over Glazer Children's Museum, new theme park attractions

ADULT SWIM: Grown Up Night

Friday will be Grown Up Night at the Glazer Children's Museum. The adult playtime will be a '90s throwback party (remember those days?) and there will be experiences with snowboards, a Mars rover and a 360-degree freeze motion video from the museum's new Math Alive exhibit. There's even a beer garden on the terrace, so book a babysitter and an Uber driver. 5-9 p.m. Glazer Children's Museum, 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa. $20 advance, $25 at the door. (813) 443-3861. glazermuseum.org.

THEME PARKS: New at SeaWorld, Busch Gardens

Starting Friday the Kraken roller coaster at SeaWorld is getting a virtual reality experience — the first major coaster in Florida to get such a high-tech addition. Riders will have the option of donning virtual reality goggles that will project an undersea adventure that features a showdown against the namesake beast.

Also new this weekend will be the Summer Nights parties at Busch Gardens with extended hours, three themed party zones, thrill rides in the dark, an all-new ice show and summer-themed cuisine. Across the street at the Adventure Island water park, Island Nights will extend the park's hours to 8 p.m. for DJ dancing, beach games and tropical-themed entertainment.
